Chrome plated stainless is my kind of over kill, I love it. Made a couple of pieces for my Harley out of it, polished one left the other mill finish.

How about a deal on a couple of knees, mine are pretty shot. Is that solid bar stock or a peace welded in a square tube? By the way you suck.

Totally solid.

Sorry, don't do too many implants here. Mostly tooling.

Chrome is tough (most surgical implants seem to run in Co/Cr, if not Ti,) but I'd go with titanium or nickel-plated titanium (tougher surface) so they'd be nonmagnetic.

Those damned magnetometers at the airport and federal building give me a headache (literally! I can tell what sort of metal detector they're using as soon as I walk through the arch...) and I set them off as it is. I don't need surgical implants causing me any trouble.

Besides, the "security exemplar" is, as I recall, made either of 17-4 or 18-8 PH CRES (I think both are acceptable,) so I wouldn't want 17-4 knees. I'll take Ti...

(Nothing personal - just gotta examine the realities of the situation. I tend to avoid flying because I'm tired of all of the insecurity nonsense, but I'm still stuck going to the Federal building for disability hearings and suchlike, so metal detectors are still a problem for me. At least at the Federal building, they're willing to let me walk around and wand me - the wands are still magnetometers, but they cause much less pain in my head than the arch does! And, unlike the walk-through magnetometers, it doesn't go off as soon as it gets near me. I have no idea why I set off magnetometers, but it may have to do with my not being able wear digital watches and depolarising motors in mechanical watches after five years or so...)
