13B Swap in a XJ?
Has any one ever thought of or done a JDM 13B engine swap in place of the 2.8L v6 some of the older XJs came with? Reason Im asking is I found an 85 XJ with a blown 2.8L. Wanted to do an unusual engine swap that would boost the power of it. Its 2wd so itll just be something fun to play with.

Personally no I've never owned a rotary this is going to be my first time owning one. I've got buddies that have had them and love them so I can have help to work on that need be. Im looking at getting a RX7 fc soon anyhow so I can really start learning about them more.

13B rotary would be cool, but I'll tell you now, they have no ***** at lower RPMs. Gotta wind them up to make them work, especially with a bigger turbo. For drivability, a 13B REW with the factory twin turbos would probably be best.
And enjoy the gas mileage out of that. My RX7 got 12 to 14 mpg at best, and it was light and not shaped like a giant brick. While I love rotary engines, I personally would never put one in a Jeep.

If you get an FC, get a turbo model. Better engine than the NA models (not all rotary engines are created equal), lot more power, stronger tranny and diff, bigger brakes, better suspension.
