Default 1990 Cherokee - Any Reason to Avoid?

Any reason to avoid this year? I saw something about a Renix I think setup that doesn't seem to thrill some people. Looking at one with about 100k miles, 2WD. Was looking mainly at 97-99, but this popped up today and thought I would see what people thought. Would be around a 1k. Not sure yet about the rest of the condition.

Ive never heard of 90 renixs being specifically difficult. A lot of people dont like renix due to the closed cooling system, which is a bit of a pain if theres air in it, and also theres no obd so theres no scanning to find your problems on a renix. Overall though I personally think they're just fine. For 1k or less id go for it

Bendix 9 ABS on the 90-91 model years can be problematic. And why buy a 2wd?

No reason to avoid a 90. I actually prefer the Renix Jeeps over the newer ones.

AMEN.

avoid the renix if you hate being awesome. thanks to a lot of memebers on here (like cruiser54), diagnosing and fixing any problems has been a breeze. i have yet to have a problem with my closed cooling system either, after two years of owning it. i replaced the 23 year old expansion tank after i bought it and haven't had any problems with it.

What he said. 2wd isn't desirable so use it to your advantage and haggle. I love my 90 XJ. Update with more info.
