1997-1999 XJ pricing
I have begun my search to learn about these years, The really nice XJ's seem to be priced high. Is it normal for these models given that they are 17 yrs+ old, I learned about Search-tempest on this sight It's pretty good resource to search.
Prices from $3999.00 to $9000.00 I would not call $3900.00 a bad price for a nice vehicle. My search range is 750 miles from my zip code in Oklahoma, I've seen some nice ones on auto trader as well. I saw one that LOOKED real nice for $5000.00 the ad from the dealer said it included a free carax, when I looked at it had been totaled twice 2010 and 2012. Crazy pricing, He's swinging for the fence for sure.
Could the pricing be because of it being a clean and rust free XJ or close to it?
In my area not to many private sellers of 1999 XJ's some....not many. All help and input is appreciated. I don't have access at to the site at home so I have to do it here at work at breaks, thanks

Look on craigslist more action there I bought mine on it. It came from out of state and I paid $1800 for it going on 6 yrs ago rust free 99. You could search in the Tulsa, OKC area and Joplin, Springfield, MO., Fayetteville Ark. ones. I also found quite a few in KCMO area.
Or consider running an ad on craigslist wanted one of what your after.

Yeah, prices around here are pretty crazy. I picked up my 60th Anniversary Edition with 118k miles for about $4k in OKC last year. It had a salvage title due to a repossession at some point but an otherwise clean carfax. I spent about 4 months looking though.

Its kinda funny that it has that title seeing as the vehicle had no damage other than the left rear quarter that was documented a few owners after the salvage title. Oh well, not a real concern for what I'm doing with the XJ.

I searched for 6 mo. before I found what I wanted and at the price I wanted to pay. You won't find them on a daily basis, I checked all the craigslist twice a day early morning and evening, good ones don't last long usually.
But if you find one that been listed a long time for a high price a lot of the time they will drop the price if they want to sell.
