Default 1998 Cherokee Classic 4WD

Was in a slight scuffle with a cabbie who switched lanes without a blinker. I should have accelerated instead of braking...

Anyway, Jeep is still driveable with a small radiator leak and busted a/c condenser, not to mention some body damage.

I'm not an idiot, but also not an expert tinkerer in the garage. Wise to try this "everyday driver" project on my own?

My dad and I (and the other driver's insurance) are in a debate - how much is a clean title, 177k miles, front-end busted XJ worth in unrepaired condition?

I know that replacing the radiator is an easy job, and I'm sure most panels and exterior item wouldn't be too hard, but I have no experience with ac condensers and that stuff. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Maybe $500-$1000 if un-repairable. Sounds repairable to me though.
Radiator is about $100 and front end body panels are cheap at the junk yard. A/c condenser? Who has an xj with working a/c? Haha

my 89 has working A/C!

Maybe see if they junk it out, if you can buy it back and use the money from the pay out to help pay for the parts? That would get you a "restored" title (at least in AZ). which decreases it's value, but at that age and miles, it doesn't have much of a value anymore.

Your not really clear in what your asking about ins. value now unrepaired or the value before it was damaged? Either way photos would be the most help for value inside and out.

Value unrepaired. I can easily look up NADA for value before the damage. I'll get some pics up soon.

Well, guess I'll just drive the wheels off of it. Ha! Or double down and kit it out.
