As far as budget goes, if I can't afford to get it right, I won't do it. If the RC kit is s#;t, it ain't goin' on my Jeep. The guy that recommended that kit told me that he breaks his t case in half on a fairly regular basis because he hasn't fixed the drive shaft to ride with his 6"+ lift. Cart before the horse.
Which is better, shackles or add-a-leaf? Springs or spring spacers? What other options are there to consider?

Coils over spacers, any day of the week. Spacers are great for leveling out your vehicle, but I wouldn't use them as your soul means of lift.
You can always do your own budget boost. ZJ v8 coils, JK shocks, and bastard packs.

Full packs are the best. You can build your own bastard pack to suit what size lift you want or buy a new pair. Shackles work, but not with sagging leafs and they put extra leverage on your leafs as well. AAL have the reputation of sagging out after awhile.
