I don't see a problem with Ford. Every MFG has their own "black sheep."

Look at the 2.8l V6 that was in the pre-1987 Jeeps.

No one likes those.

I agree with the upkeep of the vehicle. Very important.

Thanks for the examples but I had my 99 ranger for about a month and after dumping about $500 into it to get it running right agian It blew up and spun 2 rod bearings for no particular reason, everything was fine and then BOOM done. Nothing like a two mile walk in the pouring rain to get a phone call to get home. Ive had other experiences with ford that ive never had a problem and dont get me wrong they've made some pretty impressive cars/trucks (I am a fan of the F-250) but for the most part the only company Ive ever had a problem with was ford and the problems would happen out of no where. I believe were

I've got a 1992 S10 with the 2.8L 5-Speed with 243,000 miles.

I have a 1997 Ford Escort that cr/pped out on me late last year with 184,000 miles. Engine is prone to throwing a rod or dropping a valve seat, and it did 1 of the 2.

The 1989 Jeep Cherokee that I got to replace the Escort from my brother-in-law has 260,000 miles on it. Past 3 years it has only traveled 7,000 miles so I have done a lot of maintenance to it, and it still needs a bit more as well. If this things takes me to at least 300,000 miles I will be very happy. Will get my monies worth.
It is a nice feeling getting something that barely runs, and now it runs almost flawless. Cold idle is perfect, but once it gets warm it will idle around 1100rpm, so I am hoping that replacing the IAC will help fix that.

Well I finally remembered to get a picture of my mileage..

I've only been driving it for a few days so only a hundred or two are from me but after the tune-up and new battery she one wheel peels (on the 'To-Do List') like she's on ice!

*Note, its shown in Kilometers, but converted is: 222,234 Miles*
