i bought it because i wanted the motor. paid 150$ for it. and i want to keep my xj running. so this way i can have a motor built and i can have my other xj still running. get what i mean? plus the rear end was rebuilt. and only has 300 miles on it.

There are a ton of 2wd xj's out there. Not everyone uses a jeep to wheel. Most just use them to haul stuff or a grocery getter. What I dont understand is why people lift them. Looks a suppose.

ya theres really no point to this thread lol...
but i have a 2wd and go wheeling all the time. here's the thing i have found out that 2wd jeeps dont like, sand, thick mud, hills, loose gravel on hills, and hills that have mud haha. Plus a few big rocks here and there. But in all its still very capable being 2wd...

I've been in WI for most of my driving life, and have had dozens of cars, trucks, bikes, and everything in between. Unless we get a monster snow storm, 2wd is fine, as long as your not trying to race off the line. I used my 1992 F150 2wd in snow for 3 years, and never got stuck. Had snow up to the grille at some points, but never got stuck.

2wds arnt terrible. if you look in my photos at my 97 u can see how muddy i got it... being as i went threw a plowed firld a day after we had 5 inches of rain. i just had to go pull it out with my other jeep. still made it pretty darn far for a 2wd

I wouldnt say they are terrible, they just aren't as capable as a 4x4. Some people have said that a locked 2wd is just as good as a 4x4, I dont think I would go that far but a locker in a 2wd will get you a lot further than a lift on a 2wd.
