I know I'm a little late to this, but I put a 3 inch lift on my 99 Sport about a year ago. The kit came with new control arms, so I took off the stock ones.
I run 30 in tires on 15 in wheels and have they never rubbed, and I have zero problems at full lock. The reason I went with 30's is because I didn't want to worry about trimming or rubbing now or later when/if the suspension starts to sag (not sure how much that happens, I'm still kind of a noob).
I'm not gonna lie, though, there are times when I wish I went with 31's so that my wheel well was filled out more, but my 30's have served me well so I can't complain.

I run 3.5" lift, I've also run this lift with with 31's w/o rubbing, Then bumped to 33's and adjusted my bumpstops, They never Rubbed either, Now I have 35's and need to adjust my bump stops before I go wheeling so I wont rub.
