3" Zone lift
#17
I have a zone 3" and like it very much other than the shackle angle. I fixed that with LII leaf spring sliders. I also did the nitro shock upgrade.
Here it is with 235/75R15s
Here it is with 30x9.5 Hankook ATm
Here it is with 31x10.5 BFG ATs

I would probably go with the Nitro's since they don't cost that much more, and I hear good things about them.
I was originally thinking about going with the 3.5 rubicon express lift, and I think I might stay that route. It's a little bit more money, but I haven't heard one bad thing about it. I'll have to get an SYE and new drive shaft, but I want it to be done right the first time. There are like 50% of people saying a tcase drop will work and 50% saying its a band aid, and to go with the SYE, so i think I'll just do it right the first time around and get an SYE and driveshaft.
Wish I was getting more hits on this so I can get a real good idea of what it looks like, but the hits just aren't coming.

Are you looking at an SYE because it's at 3.5? My local 4x4 shop said with just a 3" you probably won't need a tcase drop, not sure if 3.5" is the break point for that.

No issues really. I do have a slight rub at full steering lock due to having 5.5" backspacing. I am also seriously considering swapping gears from 3.55 to either 4.10 or 4.56. The hills here in central PA cause my xj to hunt from OD to 3rd too much for my liking.

3 inch with full leafs and 31s. I love the lift alot and havent had any problems at all. I got the nitro shocks and I love the way it rides.

@rj, I heard about zone being a sister company to bds, but I hear their front shocks & coil springs can be stiff or not to great. Just keep hearing mixed reviews.
The RE kit runs a little bit higher than 3.5" and I've been reading that anything more than 3" usually requires an SYE and CV driveshaft. But also that older models (97 and older) sometimes don't. But I'm no pro, and haven't lifted any, just have been doing an unhealthy amount if research.

Hi All,
Really hoping to get a good hit on this thread. I was talking with my (somewhat) local off road shop, and they recommended the Zone 3" lift. I was hoping you guys could post some picks with that kit, and 31's or 30's. Mainly trying to see what the different tire size looks like with that lift. No RC 3" lift please, looking specifically for Zone lifts.
Please post as many as possible. Already did the google search, not enough stating the tire size though.
Thanks All!

I haven't quite decided yet. I'm thinking of going with the 3.5 RE SuperRide kit. For now it will be a little down the road, but everyone I've talked to about it all have good things to say.
