FYI- You're rubbing on the top of the wheel well, and you would have a LOT more flex with disconnects...

Actually, I built a XJ Crawler with my dad we had to sell last year for bills. Put up 8" on 35s locked front and rear, that thing was a tank. Greatly missed. A friend of mine put 33s on a 3" and wouldn't let me do the trimming and it came out bad. So maybe I just have a bad disposition about it. I wasn't trying to hate on anyone's rig, I LOVE XJ's... except his. Sorry if I stepped on toes.

This is on 32s with a 15x8 w 4" backspace. I was told that gearing is a must when running higher than 32s on a stock axle. . I.e. dana 35 and 30.

what axles you run has nothing to do with what gearing you need. it comes down to not having any power due to having big tires and high (numerically low) gearing. and auto xj with 3.55's and 32's wouldnt be very enjoyable to drive

Sorry I gearing in general. I have 3.55s and 32s and have to issues. Gets up and goes and still spins the tires. I'm looking to do 4.56s. But for now it rides smoother than being on 30s

I was at first wondering about the 4.56s on a DD but that's totally different! Mine has 3.73s and I wanna go 4.10s.

its not... mine has stock gearing and 33's and it is just slow to do everything. i was wondering, 33's are the biggest im going on this xj... what would be the optimum gearing for it, but still keeping it a good DD?
