32" bfg m/t or a/t ???
Hey everybody I am a newb at this and I am putting a 3" RC lift on my 95 2 door XJ and was planning to run 33's. In searching I found 2 pretty good deals on a set of 4 32" BFG M/T and a separate set of 4 32" BFG A/T. I was planning to get a mud tire, but was curious what you guys think. I will be using the vehicle for a back up and to take on some trails and wheel it when I can, but nothing real crazy. Mostly just dirt, mud, snow, with minor rocks and hills. The A/T's are almost new for $50 more and an hour closer than the M/T's. The M/T's have around 10/32nds.
Thanks for you opinions,
John

I love my 32" MT's. My xj is a DD, 50 miles a day. I wheel it about twice a month and have never had a problem on or off road, Not that noisy all all either

My opinion for what it's worth, I would get the M/T's. I have seen A/T's on the trail and they just tend to loose traction in wet or muddy soil a lot faster than the M/T's do. Adding another 2 cents, if your planning on running 33" tires I would seriously consider at least a 4.5" lift. I'm running 32's with a 4.5"lift, fender trimmed (front and rear) and they still rub at full stuff. Good luck in what ever way you choose.

I'm new to the Jeep community too but I picked up a 94 ZJ with a 3" lift and 32" A/T w/o much tread left and it rubs turning and such. I'd recommend 30", I also have a set of 30" Mickey Thompson M/T and they have no problem rubbing which is what I'm going to throw back on because I didnt think the 32's would rub. GL with your decision.

Thanks everybody for your input. I am not worried about the tires rubbing because I am going to trim the fenders and get new wheels with about 4" bs. I was thinking the A/T's would loose traction easy in mud too.

if you plan on offroading go with the m/t's the a/t's get mud stuck in the tread pattern very easily and in my opinion are the best for just an aggressive looking pavement tire...

I was leaning toward the M/T's and was really trying to get a set of Mickey Thompson that a guy is selling really close to me because they are 33's. I finally got a hold of him today, but they are 33 14.50 15's with 15x10's and I am sure would be way too wide. I am trying to get the BFG M/T's this weekend. Thanks
