4 door Comanche

Digging up an old thread here, shame on me. I am the originator of that Photoshop. I did many variations of that a long time ago. It was never actually a project I started. The closest I ever got was a '91 MJ I purchased in 2009. I then moved out of state and sold it rather than taking it with me, never did anything to it.

Thank you for the compliment. Lifts are a lot more difficult to pull off and have them look real. You have to understand that I started with a rig already setup on 33s and a good quality photo. Even then there are plenty of tells that they are photoshops, places were I was lazy.

I agree you should get out and talk to him, I'm sure he's used to it.. They did a great job from what I see I just wished they would have went the extra mile on the back doors and fabricated it right without the whell

You got to read it all, even if the thread is long.
I also agree that it would look better with the doors fabed like the one below, but for practical reasons I would not want it done that way if I had someone build this for me, because it would just be more time and also not be easily replaced if something happened to the door , i.e. rusting or some kind of damage. I remember having someone back into me with my Cherokee and my driver and passenger door needed to be replaced and insurance did not cover the cost of the custom graphics i had painted on that side, saying they don't cover custom work..
So yea .. for a show truck i would defiantly have the doors squared off, but not if I was building the thing or using the truck for work & a DD.

no prob happened to me more than a few times too..lol
Anyway, still a cool project.. I got an ole Cherokee I would love to try this with , especially since I seen a Comanche at the local JY with front end damage, but its beyond my capabilities .

Just re-visiting this thread, because I am still dreaming of having one like this, and recently I seen an MJ short bed for sale in my area of a few hundred (engine problems), so it just got me thinking again... lol
Anyone wanna make one like this for me?

That is frikin cool. Really wish Jeep had made these, or even a pseudo crew cab with short suicide back doors. Imagine that, with a step side bed... Sweeeeet.

I really want to do this. I think I will.
I am looking at a Short bed MJ, to do this with, right now.
Wish I could find a shop to do the main unibody welding, then I could finish the cosmetics of the body work. If not, I will just cut it up myself and then give it a shot. I can always scrap the uni body uni body and sell the parts if it doesn't work out.
