Cool

30 some years ago a man that owned the 4x4 shop had a camping trailer that he drove with hyd. pump/motor. I don't remember if he could vary the speed remotely but it worked & was used a lot. Was not cobbed together or otherwise "rigged".

Ya the Banana Splits! I have a body to one of those 6wheelers.....they were "Scramblers" chain drive. not heavy duty. People race/wheel them to this day. several web sites out there. If anyone wants this fiberglass body it is free!

well, i dont think it would be that hard. you could use cable as the drive shaft. they use cables to spin on brake lathes, also on screwdrivers. such as this http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/tools/8518/?cpg=froogle

Default 4x4 trailer

Army had something like that years ago in what they called a Gamma-Goat. It had 4 "front" tires anda trailer that had 2 powered wheels. Cool vehicle. You can still find them surplus.

The fog clears & I remember how he rigged it. was hyd. motors on the wheels of the trailer with warn lockout hubs (for the highway). 12v battery & hyd. pump that was controlled from the cab. he figured out how fast he needed by experience in low range. So sugersand ahead? Put her in Low & kick in the "trailer" (now a "pusher") & away you go. It was not for rapid crossing of mud or water but got him done the trail he wanted. It was a bad ride, Dodge Ram charger with truck & trailer painted like the cover of Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon. Ahhhhhhh the Good Old Days! LOL
