Country was an option package.. like the Limited of those model years.
It did not have a 1" lift as stated earlier.. unless it was ordered with the "UpCountry" suspension, it was also available with cloth seats.

[QUOTE=D3UC3S;1066700]Leather, woodgrain, HO 4.0, overhead console w/ compass, power windows/locks, country badging, and a few other things.
My brother and I both have 96 countries and his don't have leather but mine does. 4.0 was the only motor offered on them along with woodgrain dash, power group, 2 tone paint, over head consol, bigger sway bars, tinted windows, full light package and country badging. There may be more but mine is fully loaded so I don't know what other things were an option.

There is no set list of options that you can go by for each trim level. Sure Jeep had a list of standard features for each trim level in the dealer brochures, but options could be added or deleted per the customers request. You could have a base model XJ with every power option available or a top of the line XJ with manual windows, locks, and seats. Line up 100 different Cherokee Country models and there will likely be a multitude of different configurations.
