96 Cherokee 5 speed Rare
Whats up guys i just bought a 96 for 500$ with a blown head gasket. Decided to rip the whole engine apart to find out cylinder 6 had a pool of anti freeze in it. So I decided to have my head sent out to my local machine shop which they then told me the head wasn't cracked so they shaved it cleaned it real good and did all new valves which came to $260 not to bad? Then i ordered $380 worth of new parts to put it back together i got a full head gasket kit which includes everything and same quality as rockauto.com which is 300$ i got the kit for 68$ off ebay i don't care what you think ebay most the time is amazing!!! High performance water pump, high flow hoses, high flow thermostat housing with a 195 degree thermostat, i took 10 bottles of carb cleaner and a long wire brush to the inside of the intake manifold "so much gunk" got it so clean you can lick it lol, ev1 type three 4 hole fuel injectors also took an air compressor to the fuel rail when it was off to make sure no gunk was in there, new radiator, and i also had to buy the stupid coolant sensor for the rear of the head because mine broke which is very common make sure if you need that sensor remember the black top is for the dummy lights and the white top is for the full gauges. Figured i would start this thread because if anyone has any questions I'm more than free to answer them from doing this job at 20 years old with a buddy of mine who is 21 we have both mastered this engine. Heres a bunch of pictures ill take more and more. I will also post pictures of interior, truck is rare it has the over head console with the compass and also lockers in the rear from manufacture!

Good lookin jeep and great work with the head.
Don't waste your money on the TB spacer, they're useless. Also, you might have a factory "trac-lok" lsd but it's not a locker. Just clutch plates.
