Default 97 Cherokee Front driver floor leak

so it just rained the last night and i check my jeep this morning only to see the front driver floor board soaked the floor mat was soaked as well as the carpet. Is this common in the 97 cherokee to have a leak in the firewall?

Sound like it may may not be your issue but just in case; I had water getting past the weather seal just forward of the cowl where the hood seats when closed. Then it was running down the firewall and into the passenger compartment through the hood latch cable grommet (as I recall it was also getting on the cable and following it right in).

Sealed the grommet and put a dab of RTX on the cable to act as a drip stop/point which solved the problem.

i have a sub in the back and the cowl for the wires past the firewall to engine bay and its a pretty big wire so i would guess that it is traveling down the cable ill check it out thank you
