Default 97 ZJ vs 04 WJ?

I own a 97 zj with 174,000 miles. It has a 3.5 IRO lift, 32" Dunlops, and 15" RCX wheels. Jasper transmission in 2008. Good running shape.

My buddy is selling his 2004 WJ. It had a 4.5" lift when he bought it last year with 32's and 17" nice wheels (I think they're called helix). It's got 150,000 miles on a 4.0. He has put 4k worth of parts into it within the last year ( His dad owns a shop) He only wants 5k for it and my friends dad will buy mine for 4k, so i'm only out a grand. Does this seem like a good move?

Sometimes I get tunnel vision and regret purchases, it just seems like a smart move. The only problem with this new jeep is it has some trouble with 2nd gear. It comes with a master overhaul kit in the box for when i feel like fixing it.

Sounds like a real sweet deal, I would do it. Go with your gut.

I'd go for for it, especially since the Dub J has the 4.0
