Find the least rusty '97-'98 you can. Seals will go anyway, blah blah blah. All parts but the body are replaceable. (Although major things like rear main seal and transmission problems are probably a show-stopper depending on price)

Not to mention the low pinion front axle used in those years, or that the Cali '00s and all '01s have three catalytic converters and four O2 sensors at $70ea. If somebody gave me one, I'd sell it and buy a '95 or '99

Damn steering wheel is on the wrong side
The 97-99's are the best yrs. with the 99 being the best of both worlds engine wise and look it see if they have the D30/Chy 8.25 (29 spline 97-01).
Keep shopping you will find the right one.
