Also, this major metropolis is know for high prices, but there are also many people so there will be cars available. My hopes is to find some tender fellow who took care of his car and doesn't know the popularity of them.. Lol!
Good luck man. I just picked up a '98 XJ with 196,400 for $1600. I really didn't want to pay more than $1400 for it but my wife told me to stoop being so cheap, lol. I thought it was worth it because there was minimal rust, the interior and exterior were in good shape (front L/H panel has minor dent). It ran strong, 4x4 worked and the previous owner had recently replaced/fixed exhaust, water pump, air filter, heating/AC, shocks, tires(still want to replace with all terrain) and a few other things I'm forgetting to mention. The only issues I saw was the terrible lean of the driver's seat(found a fix within this forum), the rear hatch hydraulic props(incredibly common and cheap/easy to fix) and an airbag light on. Like I said I didn't want to pay the full asking price of $1600, but I'm damn glad that I did, can't wait to tinker on it with my kid and take it out on the beach.

Congrats... and you have officially been bitten. While sometimes frustrating... always rewarding in the end.

Hahaha - that's awesome! My wife told me she thinks I care more about the Jeep than I do about her.

That's why rule number 1 is... you're supposed to date/marry a Jeep girl. It restores the balance in the universe. LOL

Funny thing is, she had always dreamed of having a Wrangler, but with 2 little ones we couldn't justify it. So naturally she got a 2016 Grand Cherokee only for me to pick my '98 Cherokee sport once hers was paid off. Can't wait to wrench on it with my 6 year old. Jeep family from here on out.
