I was typing like I talk. Sorry. I dont know about you, but I've seen a drive shaft brake before effin freaky. I wouldnt ever cut and weld mine. Janker than a tcase drop if you ask me. But I'm sure someone out the could weld it up right. I just wouldnt trust it.

Plenty of shops and people do it. Never seen one fail. Hardly "janker" if it is done properly...

I didn't want to cover up a permanent problem with a temporary fix like a t-case drop or shims. I just added ground clearance, why subtract it with a t-case drop. I have a Tom Woods super duty SYE (on sale right now by the way) and drive shaft in the mail now. I would rather spend a little more and do it right than put a band-aid on the problem. So yes, to each his own.

Lol You drop the cross member 1 inch hardly any loss of ground clearance..and if you are such a hardcore wheeler that you do need that one inch. why'd you only get a 3 inch lift kit?

Ever heard of low center of gravity? There are plenty of "hardcore" guys that run 0-3" of lift.

^ yep. Thats why I said to each his own, if you wanna buy one now. lift it. Buy another. Be my guest. Its your money not mine. And if the OP wants to save some money for those sexy new tires to go along with the lift he might want to save some money. A tcase drop isnt a bad as every says it is. Same with blocks. I dont like 'em and I choice not to run them. But they're really not that bad. So..
To each his own.
To each his own.
Blocks are as bad as everyone says they are. Transfercase drops are as bad as everyone says they are. Why the hell would you want lift without added flex, ie blocks? Why the hell would you want to buy a lift FOR GROUND CLEARENCE, then drop the belly down because 100 bucks is the end of the world.
I've got news, if 100 bucks is the end of the world, sell your jeep and buy a bus pass.
You can stop posting mis information about how you think its okay to do things wrong, and use bandaid hacked fixes isntead of ponying up the pesos to do it right.
For the record, I have no issues making my own drive shafts without having a machine shop.

Not to jump into a pissing match here but if your worried about ground clearance AND driveline angle why not get a manual transmisson crossmember. It will give you almost 1" lower tcase (better DS angle) and not rob any ground clearance. Frankly I have to agree that with 3" of lift you dont really need a SYE/CV driveshaft. Get solid sealed ujoints on your DS if your worried about breaking them. Unless you have a powerstroke under the hood...

its not to each his own, this is the second time you tried to discredit people DOING IT RIGHT. Because you were 2 cheap to do it right yourself.

Why'd you lift at all? to mall crawl? don't say to fit tires, you could cut stock lif tand fit tires. Its for suspesnion flex, GROUND CLEARENCE and travel.

All I said is that a SYE of 3 inches of lift is a little silly.
Oh and if a 1 inch tcase drop is hindering your rigs abilities..then wtf do you do with the drive shaft? because I imagine that if your tcase is rubbing, then you drive shaft would before your tires would stop it?
Haha chill out bro, some people on here don't wheel their rigs every weekend, and a tcase drop is a very viable option for them.
