Default Air Bag Instrument Pannel Light

I took my 2001 Cherokee XJ to a AC repair shop. It needed a new evaporator core. The dash had to be completely removed to get to the evaporator core. When I got it back the AC works fine but the airbag light on the instrument panel stayed on and will not go out. I have no idea where to start to fix this problem. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. Rick

From my limited experience any airbag light is usually the clock spring, IF the vehicle has never had the air bag deployed. I wonder if they left something in plugged. Or even just messing with some of the 15 yo harnesses can ruin them sometimes.

I's take the steering wheel off first and check the clock spring for continuity.

I was thinking something unplugged too but don't know where it might be. On my other vehicles it's under the seat. Not on the 01' xj though.

All the XJ clockspring stuff is behind the steering wheel. I'd start there, taking off the air bag (2x 8mm) will show you the wires.

Ok I checked the clock spring and all the connections are good and no issues found. Still have that air bag light on. It's not throwing a code, at least none that my scanner shows, nor pre-codes.

They might have been in a hurry and forgot to plug it back up,Or could have damaged something.
