Ok, Jim, so not to topic slide my own thread, but in a similar vein, should I just avoid any downward style hitch mounts, like cargo carriers, or what I was really hoping for a swing out plug in ala https://detoursofmaine.com/

None. It's uniFRAME. The strength of which you needn't be concerned.
I'd be more concerned about weight distribution, sagging rear suspension, unpredictable handling and the like with the weight of a motorcycle dangling off the back.

Hell no!! Stiffeners are for rock crawlers who use the XJ way beyond its design limits.

We don't have a lobby.
The XJ has always been great right out of the box.
You'll always get folks telling you that ya gotta have this or that when you don't need that crap for what you're gonna do with your Jeep.
I've seen pics of yours. It's nice. It will do more than you wanna do just like it is.

One clue might be that factory hitches have an add on metal box for the electrical connection to a trailer (slightly bent in the blurry pic below). I have never seen this on an aftermarket hitch. There is also a sticker that provides the towing specs on the right side. These are sometimes removed or painted over.
Nice XJ btw.

Just go use it. Take a ride up around New Lebanon and Stephentown. Take some pics for me.
