Its a great mod for the older style XJs, a quick trip to the JY, three torque bolts each side.

LOTS of cars have breakaway mirrors.....fords chevy dodge jeep toyotas vws all of them have them......

Really curious about these wipers that lock up? I have a 99 and I don't think they do.

Yeah you can swap the 97+ mirrors directly onto your pre-97 XJ. My wipers don't lock up....and it irritates me.

Yea I was replacing my coil pack and spark plugs when I bumped into it, that's how I found out, thus the open hood is explained.

And you do realize that the blind spot mirror is in the wrong location too, right? It does go in the bottom corner, on the outside edge of the mirror!

thats what i want for mine too,i just hav the spring loaded ones and ive hit a few trees in tight trails with them. so far i couldnt find any fold aways in the jy's.

94 grands do that too ,,found out while wheeling a washout and laid it over on its side ,,just dont back up,,i did ,,no more mirror

wiper arms.... lift up on the arm and have a flat head ready you will see a little tab by the splines pry it out and bam wipers are stuck up... push it down and bam they go back down...

Yeah my 93's mirrors wont fold, but my 98's do. I didnt know you could do a straight mirror swap like that - and I didnt know that about the wipers.. good to know. Ive lost track of all the stuff Ive learned on this forum!.
