Default am I the only one?

Who prefers the look of the 84-96 front ends over the 97-01?

I always see threads where people want to convert to the 97-01 front end, but never see one where people want to convert a 97-01 to the 84-96 front....The 97-01's just dont look as "tough", they look to much like a car

I LOVE my 86, the front end will never be all round looking

I prefer the look of my 87 inside and out over the newer ones.

EXACTLY!!! I dont understand why some people think its SO COOL to swap over to the newer style?!?!
I guess because they feel ashamed of owning something that old, pfft...Ide tell them to grow up.
So yeah, I like my XJ, un-rounded, same as you. And I proudly admit its an '89. I actually get alot of comments about how great a shape its in!

F*** those rounded bastards! .... IM KIDDING!!!

eh, mine has NO interior other than seats and a steering wheel, so I cannot comment on what MINE has in there, but, when it DID have interior, I do prefer the older setup.

I don't really care what it looks like either, I just like cupholders, 29 spline 8.25's, non disconnect dana 30's... and a few other minor updates

I like the look of my 96. I agree is looks a little more tough. I also don't think the side markers on the 97 and up, look like they belong. But, the cupholders I wouldn't mind along with the 29 spline 8.25" but my 8.25" holds up fine.

I think most people switch because it gives the impression of a newer vehicle. Plus they are easier to find parts for in good condition. IMO

I've been keeping my eyes opened for one but they junk the XJs so quick in the JY it's like I never even have a chance.

Yah I would definitely agree with Donnie_K and 96Cherokee113 on the cupholder addition. That's one minor thing my 96 is lacking! Have any of you guys installed or designed a cupholder solution for 96 and under Cherokees?
