Put a tack weld on the mounting bolts.

I have not had a issue but my buddy has had a winch stolen . I take 2 sockets that are larger then the bolt that holds it to the winch plate and tack weld them over the bolts so they can not be accessed so if someone wants my winch they will have to remove 22 bolts to get the bumper off

I'm going to put the nuts on a grade A bolt and drill a hole, back the nut off and put a lock on a couple. Tack welding will also work, but removing them will be a pain.

Something I heard, "leave a well used empty holster laying on the dash", should work every time.

Make it a 500 magnum holster and nobody will even touch your jeep.

I've had kids **** with my winch by just flipping it to free spool....someone pulled out like 90ft of cable and wrapped it around my bumper. Called the ****** out on it. Kid had no respect for anything. But I put a sip tie in a sneaky place so even if someone hits free spool. Nothing is coming out and no one is pulling anything out. Unless they know where the zip tie is and cut it....... I'll post pic tomorrow

forget about all this, do like guys in my area do.....put a hitch in the rear, put a hitch in the front, then weld a hitch reciever to the mounting plate of the winch...then you can use it front or rear, and keep it in your jeep when trailing, and in your garage/house when not being used.

or you could just buy it already fabbed

this is what i plan to do when i get my winch

Find grade 8 torx bolts to mount it, then round them off after they are tight. and then hate your life when you need to remove it, but it will never get stolen.

Vise grips would get them rounded ones off. Or weld a new nut on top of the rounded off one IF you need to take it off lol

How do you get power to the winch....ok you have it in front and hook it up-say you want to put it on the rear....how do you do that with the cables? Idk doesn't seem real practical for me.
