I did but mine died. Apparently something to do with updates has been making these cameras just stop turning on and charging. It sucks. But when it worked it was awesome.

I don't have a Go Pro so I can't test or decide if the solution seems likely, but if yours died there are some videos on youtube that can fix some of them

Yeah tried that, they didnt work. Only one I didnt try is manually charging the battery. But ill prob just buy a new battery and try it.

I've got a Hero3 Black and I've mounted it to most every surface on my XJ. I've only had it for a month and I'm starting to run out of ideas using the standard mounting hardware but I've got ideas for some other interesting stuff, just have to make the rigging.

I haven't gotten to wheel much since I've gotten mine, but the one time I did, I had it mounted on the hood. You can kind of see it in this picture. The problem is that day, I hadn't yet updated the firmware, and the stock firmware was buggy and the camera would randomly stop recording. Basically, I had a video of going down the road to the trail, and nothing else.
