I think the people responsible should just be tied to the back of an XJ just before a test of a new lift kit. Or and old and proven lift kit, or none at all or...

Another thing cash for clunkers did was drive the prices up on cheaper used vehicles. You used to be able to find a good vehicle for under $3,000.Now it's more like $5000 That was a brillant idea.Thought that couldn't be topped and then came the health care bill. I know it's a little off topic, but once I start ranting, it's hard to stop.

They probably could have sold that for the same amount that the Cash-4-Clunkers gave them credit.
They still could have had a new car and not destroyed the Jeep. This program was complete garbage. This program only made it a little harder for lower-income families to find a decent used car that they can afford.

what a ****ing waste! some of these cars are classics, and some costs 10X what the value of the vehicles that should have been turned in. a 2008 Foose Design F-150!?!?! Buick GNX?!?!?!? Mitsubishi Starion (these cars DOMINATED the rally series of the 80's when they were used)!?!?!?! not to mention there are many bad trades not even listed on the website's article. there were supposedly 5 ORIGINAL Shelby 427 Cobra's traded in and destroyed!!!!!

When they were doing that stupid program I went to a dealer with my buddy. In the back they had the cars from the clunkers program parked. It was a shame to see all the great cars thatwere giong to be destroyed. All kinds of suv's that were in great shape. Undoubtedly one of the dumbest things that the government has ever done, and that is saying something.
