I haven't had any issues with mine. They can take some abuse that is for sure.

I just finished the auto to manual swap on my truck, havent had a chance to get it out on the trail yet.
The reason I did the swap was my friend had a manual XJ he let me drive one outing and I loved it.

PROS::
you can get smaller gears when you get taller tires
it has a little better fuel economy
it feels sporty and you have more control over your rpm's

CONS::
gonna have to worry about clutch
rock crawling is gonna be a challenge
youre gonna have to put in hours to swap it

I loved my ax15. +2 mpg for the DD and a challenge off road
just loved the way it felt. it only grinded in reverse sometimes.
BUT that profile picture of mine is caused by
an overly abused clutch. gotta watch out thats my .02
I will absolutely be getting another one

How did you set your clutch on fire?

For the most part it was like replacing a tranny, one out, one back in. The trickiest part was getting the pedal assemblies out. Other than that it was pretty straight forward.

I Loved my AX-15. It has to be one of my favorite manual transmissions and it off-road wasnt to bad but as stated before you have to be quick with the clutch or you'll roll back. That and worrying about a clutch which to me isnt to big a deal but either way I think it'd be a great Idea and If I could get the whole Assembly for my XJ right now Itd be in in a heartbeat.
