I'm not entirely sure that is a good idea. Headroom is at a premium in our XJs so raising the seat will only allow short 6 year olds to sit there. Plus, if you ever put the rear seat forward for rainy day trips to Home Depot, you will not be able to lay the seat back forward and flush.
when I pulled my XJ apart to clean it entirely, I noticed that the seat is not really resting on the floor. It may set up about 4" or so off the floor in front, but covers part of the wheel well so the back loses all real estate for storage. I don't see raising the seat will net you much usable space. Besides, you'd have to cut some sort of access holes in the front verticle section of the seat and I don't think that would be a smart move.
Don't want to slow you down, just give you pause to think about it.

well if your not gonna have any passengers in the back and not concerned with headroom your could prolly fab up some steel block (lift blocks would work) to put under the seat to raise it

Why not remove the front support to the seat and replace it with some piece of 90* angle for the horizontal piece and 1" box steel for the vertical supports? Then you can slide stuff in.

f not, check your local laws. Every state is different, so don't let "I didn't know" earn you a felony. In Wyoming, vehicles cannot conceal weapons, so I'm in good shape, but California or any other state may have a different opinion.
