Now what i did was i took the hood orniment off an old grand wagoneer at the junkyard. Im goin to put it on the hood of my XJ real soon. Heres what they look like.

the cheap way is to get longer bolts and use some larger nuts as spacers. i guess the hard way would be to get someone to make an aluminum block that actually moves the hood into alignment with the latch and lifts it.

alot of aircooled vw guys have stand off deck lids on the back. i know i did my karmann ghia with 3 nuts on each side on the hinges for more airflow

On mine it runs about 10* cooler and on the trail it runs normal 210*

i went to home depot and got a piece of 1" square tube, measure center to center of the bolt holes mark and drill cut to length and get some bolts 1" longer than stock and stick them in there
pretty much the same process as a T-case drop

Instead of those cheap ball sacks get some thick chain and weld huge nuts from like a light post and hookem to the hitch. Best ever

haha thats going in my sig, ive actually seen a truck driving around like that, but "cheap ball sacks" made me laugh, might just be the hour it currently is
