Default Bed lined my roof

ok my roof had some defective paint or something and i decided to bed line it after seeing how some of you had done. the metal was rusted bad so i got out my angle grinder and wire wheel and started at it. it took me 4.5 hours and my arms were ready to fall off but this is what it looked like..

then because the metal didn't look so good i used some rust killer primer on the bare metal after i taped everything off.

then it was time for the Duplicolor bedliner. had to stir it for about 30 min. to get it properly mixed. then i applied 2 coats about 2 hours apart. here it is, I still have some touch up to do but that won't take long.

Nice, Im looking to bed line some interior and exterior areas. I was wondering what the finish is on this? Is it rubbery, gritty etc?

May have been better off with the rattle can stuff, I think it looks nicer even though its not as tough (doesnt really need to be tough on the roof). nice work though, i bet that was a pain in the butt to get done

All you have to do now is get 3 sides and a tailgate and you have multilple vehicles.

Came out nice. Personally, I would have painted it but I'm sure this was way cheaper.

I was thinking of putting bed liner on my roof... Not the rough textured stuff though.

Did you just paint over the skid strips?

ya it would have been to tedious to tape it off. plus i had some rust too close to them so i had to wire wheel them a bit too.

I'm doing this sometime this summer, my roof has all these little circles and you can tell there is rust underneath...

Im thinking just grind/sand, prime and then roll it on and it shouldn't be too obvious on my purple xj

It should hold up good if i throw a kayak up there sometime lol

hey everyone , just to let you know there was a noticeable decrease in cabin noise with the addition of the bed liner to the roof.
