I only buy car audio from crutchfield.com. They have great products, unbiased tests and reviews, and fantastic customer service. Go on their website and click on "Outfit my car" and it will ask you a bunch of questions, then will show you all the head units that fit you jeep. You can then pick which you want, and I think if it's over 50 dollars it ships for free

Having been in the 12 volt audio business for 12+ years, Sony and Alpine have the best entry level decks. Alpine is probably the better built unit but you'll get more features for you're money with Sony.

I have to dissagree I have a Alpine CDE103 and it is probably one of my least favorite decks I've owned...Alpine used to be Awesome but it seems over the last few years they let it slip ...

can't go wrong with Pioneer IMO I have 7300BT in my D.D. and its Great.

here's my suggestion for your price range:

like this

Personally I like Pioneers and have them in all 3 of my cars. They last forever, I like the custom eq setting, I like the layouts, the remotes are all universal and $10 each (I have a bad habit of losing stereo remotes)

I got my last one a DEH-P4100UB from ebay for $36 and its one of the better ones Ive had, 3 sets of 4v pre amp outputs all with separate level and eq adjustments, usb, aux. It was basically BRAND NEW but was missing the volume ****, well a $10 remote fixed that np.

Ive had 2 kenwood decks and both of them stopped working within 2 years...

I've been kinda leaning towards a Sony Explode or something Kenwood. A guy on craigslist had a sony explode, an amp, and a jensen 10 inch speaker for 100 so i might look into that too.

Kenwood, Alpine make a decent unit for the money. But yeah definitely no Sony...and Jensen is below Sony so none of that either. IMO.

get a sony if you want cheap electronics and really bad distortion at higher volume

I cant imagine how one would hold up in an off road vehicle
