Only years the f350 wasn't a solid axle was 80-85,The f250 wasn't 80-97,When ford rolled out the super duty body in 99 everything using it was solid axle.99-04 used leaf springs then 05 up went to coils and arms.

Dodge ram 2500 (and up) from decades back on up until more recent years used solid axles on their 4wd. Snag yourself a 96+ Ram 2500 with the Cummins and the manual transmission and you've got a real solid, real tough truck.

Toyota pickups are about the same as a jeep just different name and made overseas but in my opinion more reliable than any american pickups out there.

If your willing to wait a few years and save your pennies, you could buy the new Jeep Truck they will start producing in 2018. Lol

Its simple. No modern truck can perform offroad like a jeep. That's just a fact. I've been places that a f350 on 37s got stuck. And a Silverado. I pulled them both out and then drove right through where they were stuck.

Honestly....Chevy Colorado. The GF has one with the Inline 5. Although it is IFS, it gets good mileage, has a good amount of torque and power(towed a double axle u-haul up Raton Pass in New Mexico at 70mph loaded) is compact, comes in a crew cab, and has a fairly decent aftermarket following. Think of it as a ranger or toyota but a bit more comfortable and better mileage/more power. Under rated i think. And i am not a chevy guy.
