Default Bilstien 5150's discontinued?

I ordered these a few weeks ago only to have Fed Ex lose my shipment. Got the claim in and just got off the phone with Eshocks.com. I was refunded and told they are now discontinued and I'll have to go with 5160's.

Anybody here know of this?

Weird, I haven't heard anything. Eshocks is def reputable. The 5160 is a better shock though..

I would not be surprised because this is just my luck. I'm gonna call somebody else and see if it's true.

Ok I just talked to Clayton manufacturing. The guy there said they do not use 5150's anymore because of comebacks with the tower on top coming apart so it would not surprise him if they were discontinued. He basically called them junk in a nice way lol.
So.. Guess I'll go with the 5160's. Pretty pricey for $200 each but I got my refund so what's a couple hundred more.

people who break the eyes off usually have axle wrap issues, or improperly mount them.

but i wouldnt be surprised if the 5160/65 is replacing them

Get prices on the 7100s before jumping right into 5165s.

I did not get a name but he pretty much gave the thumb down and did not recommend them.

He said there is a jam nut on top that loosens up resulting in the shock separating from it's mounting point. I don't know.. I've never had these shocks before so all I can do is go by the picture I've seen. I'll search to see what he's talking about.

I'll look these up then. If I'm gonna spend the money why not.

just because something is a good seller doesn't always mean the company wants to keep the product going. Ex. our beloved Cherokee's amazing vehicles but are no longer being produced.
