Blocks in the back bad?
#77
I'm not saying blocks are unsafe. no one said that. the point you're missing is that you're saying blocks wont do any damage and that's not true. run blocks all day if you want. anyone else should feel free to run blocks too as long as they're aware of the side affects. I want people to make informed decisions for their jeep upgrades not just read what someone like you says and go out and buy blocks thinking its fine
I said 1.5“ blocks are just fine. In which they are.
A guy that is asking about blocks is not looking for the best option out there.
I agree the taller the block the more axle wrap you can have. But honestly 1.5" is not enough to do anything negative.
SHoot my 3" front rc springs have less that a year on them and one is broken.
I think you would find we agree its just sometimes terminology along with internet communication can make things a little confusing.

my blocks have lasted me since 2009. they are shim'd and steel. they suck.
have i broken leafs or u joints or output housings, no. will i? idk.
i've bounced on them, alot. i've put petal to the metal from stop, probably thousands of times. run 35's, 33's, 31's...
i have terrible axle wrap. my leafs are junk, and it rides like crap.
if you can afford almost anything other than blocks, go that route. if not, they might work for awhile, they may not.

You still never answered my question, so you're saying your experience, your very short and unintelligent experience is far more truthful than the proven, over hundred of years, physics?

For the guys out there who are really looking for sound advice. Its here, but you have to wade through so much crap to get it. sound advice, now if only youd listen to it and stop posting crap
THat said you boys may want to write a letter to every suspension company out there telling them how unsafe blocks are. Then you may want to write letters to all the vehicle manufacturers stating how their trucks are unsafe.

The truth is most new people that come on here asking for set ups are not going to be running the king of the hammers.
let me suggest to you that you go to my post where I explained how physics works and how the axle will still twist, not as much as a bigger block but will still twist, and how that repetitive twisting is going to put strain and stress and shorten a leafs life
Blocks are not going to hurt anything in this situation.
not at first(its possible at first but rare) but later down the line, maybe 1 month, 7 months, a year, 3 years, etc... those leafs are going to sag and curve and possible break
You boys that say otherwise do not have experience in this area.
not me but I do believe hundred years of physic knowledge does..
My advice is to actually either speak from experience
I think college physics and mechanics is plenty experience.

no they're not fine, they're horrible
A guy that is asking about blocks is not looking for the best option out there.
but bastard packs are still better, and use about the same procedure to swap
I agree the taller the block the more axle wrap you can have. But honestly 1.5" is not enough to do anything negative.
^contradicting yourself?
I think you would find we agree its just sometimes terminology along with internet communication can make things a little confusing
only thing confusing is what sense if any is in that brain of yours.

so lets cut all this B.S. aside and get one straight answer from you since you are all knowing.
are you saying that your short life experience is truly and utterly true and that hundreds of years worth of testing and calculating and refining physics from highly intelligent people is false? just answer me that
