Just put on this bolt on exhaust tip and thought I would get peoples opinions on what they think of it.

If you like it it's cool. My only objection is walmart. I wouldn't spend a dime there but that's my opinion. also borla makes better looking tips for like 30-50$. I might get 1 but yea it looks fine. Doesn't add sound or performance tho.

Yeah, walmart is questionable no doubt.
But I figured $14 for a stainless steel piece (at least on the outside) was a pretty damn good deal; even more so if borla tips are $30-50

Plus its made by "Pilot Motorsports" and has a fiberglass resonator...so its not like its straight walmart brand, just not a super high quality brand.

I thought of one of those until my rear pipe was crushed by a rock, now my exhaust is cut before the axle and theres no use for it.
I think it looks good, just make sure you don't get it hung up offroad

i have one too, cuz the down turn end got squished so i cut it off and used the tip as a good looking extension, gives mu no muffler *** a raspier tone, but doesnt effect it much...

I was gonna say stupid until I realized that it's mostly under the bumper. This isn't too bad.
The PO of my uncle's xj put a rather large tip on, which went beyond the bumper. Him and his kids got burns from the fool thing until I took it off for him. I don't think you're gonna have that problem here.
Not my thing, but it's also not my jeep. As long as you don't get burned, enjoy it.

It's cool. Next plan to touch up the paint from the stone chips on those lower rear quarters. Your XJ looks to be in great shape overall and it will last long if you stay on top of the underside maint.

But after seeing my rockers start to rust from the inside out quicker than I expected and the trunk area/floorboards just starting to rust, I think I am too late for any rust upkeep.
I guess that is what I get for flooding the inside with muddy water.

I was going to see how it held up after awhile, if all seems good I will most likely weld it, should clean it up a bit, and won't have any worries of it plopping on the trails one day. (or highway )

I wish it was like half an inch smaller in diameter and I could push it up so it doesn't hang so low...I guess those are my only complaints really.

This happened in the blink of an eye, well 22 years, but hey that's just a pup's age for an XJ. Have fun with yours, it is still lookin great!
