I don't have a set, so no real advise to give...but I know JCR does awesome stuff and they wouldn't be selling them if it didn't strengthen the bumper from the bottom side as it ties into the frame rail where a hitch or gas tank skid would also mount.

I dont doubt they do awesone stuff, i actually wanted to buy a bumper from them, but no money in the old mattress lol i just wanna make sure my bumper doesnt come flyin off when i pull someone out or get pulled, pull the boat etc. So i might tie into the inner frame channel, and put those on as a backup.

Your replies just kept coming.

I think they should be sufficient but adding more beef won't hurt.

this is what I am in the process of doing to my rear bumper....will have a 2" reciever and pull points mounted when done.
the giant tube....4x6-1/4

the hole....2x2 against the inner wall of the subframe.

length of 2x2-3/16 inserted into the subframe

welding up the 1/4" plate to the insert tube.

mount installed....ready for the giant tube.

Also I mated holes in the subframe to ones I drilled into the insert tube that I welded nuts to the inside.....not sure why I didnt picture those.... will maybe get some pics of that next week..... the giant tube will mount to the insert pieces..... eventually.
