Niiiice! Yes I've also heard of exporting Japanese vehicles to AU and NZ. Good to see some make it here. The fender turn signals sure are a treat.

Same thing can be said about Southern California (well... not the rain... hah). A little sodium chloride in the air has nothing on the crap sprayed/spread all over the roads, and then caked on with slush.

At least around here if we get significant show there will also be salt residue on the roads all winter (it takes a few weeks for it to go away after applied, so if we are getting snow storms more than once every 2 or 3 weeks the salt will never go away until spring) so washing your vehicle during the winter is pretty much pointless as you will have just as much of a coating of salt after you drive a few miles as you did before you washed it.

theres BIG money in RHD XJ's for postal use.... Well over 10k for NICE ones. my carrier just bought a southern one for over 10k with 70 k miles on it. She had a 95 that finally rotted away beyond use she wanted NO other vehicle to do the job so she paid the Cash.

It depends... If you are a rual carrier you get paid mileage to maintain your personal vehicle based off the number of stops on your route.
City Carriers that get to drive the postal trucks get to drive those as part of the job. They don't own them.
I've got lots of family in all aspects of the Post Office. From Carriers to Postmasters to Maintenance to Law Enforcement...

^This, most postal trucks (the ones owned by the USPS) are still the old Grumman LLVs which are basically a custom aluminum van body on a mid-late 80s Chevy S10 pickup chassis with a 2.5L Pontiac "Iron-Duke" I4 ~90HP, 3-speed auto (THM180) and RWD. Fine for the city (though given their age, they now cost a fortune to maintain, replacements have been postponed for many years due to budget issues) but pretty much worthless in mountainous areas, on unpaved roads, or in areas that get allot of snow.

So if you have to get the mail through, and RHD saves you walking round your truck a thousand times a day.... XJ all the way!
I guess leaving mail on a truck bed would be a bad idea too..
Cool ☺

They don't get out... They sit in the passenger seat and drive with modified pedals and reach to the drivers side to operate the wheel. (In LHD cases)
