buying my first xj
I'm just curious as to if I should bring this one in or let it go because I'm stoked that its a 2 door.. here it is
http://longisland.craigslist.org/cto/3071699694.html
I was just wondering if it was worth to buy (at a lower price) remove the 3" lift and replace it with 4.5" or a 6" rough country, since I don't own any of the tools to remove or install a lift (as far as I know) is it worth the trouble to go through to install the other lifts or would it just be easier to just start from stock.. also if I'm going to be offroading maybe once or twice a week what would be more applicable the 4.5" or the 6" and how much would I have to trim up to fit 35 12.5s underneath? Or should I just stay safe with 33s?

Judging by the wear on the brake pedal I would say it either has more than 93k miles on it, or it has done a LOT of stop and go in the city. Too much money in my opinion.

cheapest as in both cheap price and product quality.
35" tires on your first jeep is shooting the moon. you'll need to build some axles and you'll end up spending $4000-$5000 or more in parts and installs to have a jeep capable of 35" tires
I will vote for a stock jeep and build from there. people want to much $$$ for their 'built' (9/10 times pile of junk!) jeep on craigslist

patience is a big thing when shopping for an xj. I spend about 6 months looking on craigslist before I find the right one. I'm on my 3rd one now.
so I've spent a year and a half of my life searching for jeeps...

Yeah bud just throwing 35's on stock axles is not a good idea even 33's its recommended to go better axles. The price on that jeep is way too high too thats more of a $2500. Since its your first xj you should go 33 or smaller then after learning a thing or two about xj's you can make the decision to go bigger later.
