Get a 91-99 with the 4.0 and the Chrysler 8.25 rear axle.

Someone shopping for a WKII doesn't want an XJ. They may think they do, but they don't.

So, get the Hemi one!

With the Grand Cherokee, the 75th Anniversary Edition model was split into two different trims: Laredo and Limited. The Limited is the nicer of the two trims, and will give you leather seats as opposed to the Laredo's cloth seats. The Limited will ALWAYS give you leather, and will generally have the nicer equipment. We have a '14 Limited with the standard 3.6L V6 engine, and it has almost 165k miles on it. It's a great vehicle, and has everything we want and need on it.

165K on a '14?.... you drive that thing all the way to Russia and back a few times? lol...
Not saying it's bad... more of a tribute to what Jeeps can do when taken care of.

We bought it with 53k back in 2016 off-lease, and the previous lessees had put about 20k more miles than average, but it was MUCH cheaper than a 2-year-old Jeep with fewer miles.

We have a 20 mile commute each way to work, and take it on longer trips as well. We follow all of the recommended maintenance. The biggest issue we've had is a blend door issue on the passenger side (passenger side air blows out cool, but not hot or ice cold). That issue started in the Fall of 2019, and we're debating about spending the $1,000 to fix it, or just trade it in on a slightly newer model with less mileage. It's been a great vehicle though, and we love it.

Definitely gotta weigh the pros and cons on that decision.... obviously with only a few issues over the last 110k give or take... this particular jeep was obviously assembled at the plant on a Tuesday morning after everyone had a full pot of coffee and were wide awake... That's a big plus... not a Friday afternoon when they all had free tickets to a local NASCAR event or something. So obviously put together right... hard to find.... but yet, even the good ones do have a life-span... so looking at a much lower mileage one now as well is not out of the question.... I just know when that day comes for me.... I will be sad to let my XJ go.... I've been blessed to have a number of vehicles in my life previously.... and I know it's just a possession....but there just feels something kinda special about it to me. She's old, things break... my wife wants me to sell it and get a truck.... (it makes sense)...but I just can't let go of my XJ that easily for some reason.
