I'm surprised no one has pointed out that for all the concern he is putting into bringing cold air to the intake that it sounds like he is running an open air intake, not isolated from the engine bay heat with an airbox.

When you got your airfilter sitting in the engine bay its pretty much going to be saturated with hot air. Your first task should be building an insolated air box for the filter that will keep hot air out!

Then, worry about getting cold air in. A lot of guys do this by running a tube from behind the headlight into the airbox.

Take the POS CAI intake back off, put a cowl intake on it and be done.

Exactly.

OR just get a factory air box like this one and be done.

For some reason my Jeep hasn't drown in rain water yet...

I dunno, that setup looks pretty sketchy. I'd put a fan in the tube to difuse incoming water...or at least a little ninja to karate chop it into oblivion...

Long shot here, but Arctic Cat has designed a screen for their snowmobiles that allows enough air in but is also completely waterproof. It's something to consider. Also you could just make a backwards facing cowl (hood scoop?) thus providing the heat a way out the top while sucking cool air in through the bottom. And then potentially a snorkel or something similar.
