Yea I figure that's why nothing ever happened. I change my oil every 3-4,000 miles. Using Valvoline 10W-30

Oil is not big issue, they have set standard they have to adhere to. Oil filter is whole different story. Cheap filters hurt your engine. They don't filter dirt out well enough and the drain back valves suck. That means every time you start your engine, it is running dry for a good 5-10 seconds before pressure builds. That will destroy an engine.

Does not matter if you change filter every 1000 miles. The damage is being done. Do what you feel is good enough for you. But it is proven that you are hurting the engine with cheap made filters.

Fram is proven to be cheap and they still will not change manufacturing to make them better. Shows they don't care. Good PR sells and gets people to buy them.

Depends on how you maintain your motor. The vast majority of contaminants in oil are just byproduct from the combustion process, if you're addressing that outside the filter then what filter you use isn't that big a deal.

Also as far as the drain back valve, it really depends on how the filter sits. On some motors it doesn't matter if it has a drain back valve or anti drain back.

Fram oil filters, the cheapest filters out there? Really? I worked at a Fram oil filter plant for 31 years and they were tested for every thing...pressure, paper pleats, tapping plates, leaks and even paint. If you only knew all the different brands that came off the assembly line with different paint but basicly the same parts.....
