yeah im really confused with it and kinda aggravated about it... but i have to see if i got some lights that work, any body know where the wires hook to the dome light and which ones are powered by the button on the door jam, or if i should just hook it up with a toggle switch in the back?

on my son's 92 ,I installed a tractor light I purchased at NAPA. I used 1 minute epoxy and cut a hole inthe liner and glued it to the roof. I had two wires coming off the back of the light: a short one I grounded to the roof. the other wire ran under the headliner ,above the driver door and under the dash,(this wire for the light. I installed a rocker switch in the dash and ran a fused wire to the battery for power. I ran a ground also for the light in the switch.

my jeep has a factory installed one in the cargo area. it turns on and off with the front one. all you have to do is tie into the one above the front seats, and bring 2 wires along above the headliner in the rear. im sure you can get a generic cargo light that you can mount to the roof frame member in the rear.

if you have the headliner out then it would be really easy to install 2 baja lights ($20) one on each side that angle down into the cargo area. it would be simple to wire, simple to connect. I have actually been playin with this idea myself. I already have 6 bajas on my rig

go to the junkyard and look for a mid 90's chevy pickup, alot of them came with an inspection light under the hood (mounted to the passenger inner fender) that has about 10-15ft of wire on a reel. this will allow you to put light wherever you need it and reel it up when you're done.

you could also buy a tractor light at NAPA. get an empty clorox bottle. attach the wires just to back of the light and run the wires throught the pour hole in the bottle. when you have cut the bottle down to fit just the lens, now silicone the light into the bottle opening. fuse one of the wires. select the length of wire needd to get to the cargo area. attach a cigarette lighter plug to the end and you are in business.
