If Jeep was to begin production of the XJ again (the 99 model year) what would you be willing to pay for one brand new off of the lot?

Keep in mind, to sell it now as a brand new one, it would need a lot of updates to comply with current laws like tire pressure monitors, crumple zones, etc. probably would tack on all kinds of extra $$.

To include 27 airbags, 33 cupholders, heated floor mats, self adjusting rear memory seats, 4 wheel independant suspension (Explorer, Durango, Grand Cherokee), FULL leather and sharkskin interior, LED mood lights throughout, because noone want just a utilitarian vehicle any more.

If I could afford it, and had an opportunity to buy a brand new Jeep Cherokee XJ right off the show room floor, I would do it.
...but in reality, we're lucky we even still have the Wrangler. Give it another 10 years, anything but 40mpg commuter cars will be outlawed.

To stay on topic tho, if it was built like it used to be with minimal modern requirements id pay 17-20k.

Id pay sticker price, if there was a few new interior mods or offroad model, I admit it would treat it as more of a mall crawler than rock crawler but then again my current xj im afraid to take on rocks, but if i had a new one as a DD bring on the rocks.
