yeah only reason i went that fast was to impress the people riding with me, and i really didnt suceed in that i mostly just scared them and myself

PS - I have not done that. Still running 3.55 on 6" lift and 33s. Had it up to about 95 on that setup. I don't think it would do more than about 90 on a flat windless road.

Right...
The U.S. spec 325i e30 had a computer-limited top speed of 131mph. The Euro spec 325i e30 had a top speed of 140mph.
Maybe if you had a 30 mph tailwind you'd see 155. More likely, if you really saw that speed, your speedometer is off.
169hp doth not 155mph makith.
Speaking of e30's, I had a great BMW e30 Turbodiesel Kombi when I lived in Germany, the 324TD. It would cruise at just a tick under 200km/h (125mph), and it would get a solid 34mpg (but not at the same time).
I've had my present US spec '98 Jeep Cherokee up to right around 115mph - not sure if a computer limiter prevented more speed, or if the (lack of) aerodynamics prevented more speed.

I chase tornadoes and drive into hurricanes, yet you won't see me doing over 75mph in an XJ (mine or otherwise). Well maybe if someone let me drive their racer that is fully caged ;-)

On topic, I have gotten mine to 3600RPM in overdrive which I think is roughly 110. On unbalanced tires, crappy road surface, wind and bump steer with no sway bars, it was scary. Fastest I ever drive it is 80 when I am passing on the interstate.

Oh god this is scary information to me. Today my brother and I got his 1990 325is running.
On topic, I have gotten mine to 3600RPM in overdrive which I think is roughly 110. On unbalanced tires, crappy road surface, wind and bump steer with no sway bars, it was scary. Fastest I ever drive it is 80 when I am passing on the interstate.

As for fast Jeeps, mine was completely stable at its top speed of about 115mph. Several caveats: I have good shocks (Rancho RS5000), and good 16" tires (Goodyear Fortera Triple Tred 235/70R-16, T rated to 118mph) and perhaps most important, my Jeep is not lifted. Also, I have years of experience driving on the German Autobahns, where Geriatric types cruise at about 80mph, typical families drive along at about 95-100mph, and the rest move along at 110-140mph, conditions permitting. You haven't lived until you've driven on a long distance night trip and AVERAGED 120mph from start to destination.
I always find it funny when I encounter the typical American attitude of "why would you want to drive that fast?" or "you're crazy to drive that fast" and of course my favorite, "Speed kills." There are less accidents per distance driven, less injuries per distance driven and less fatalities per distance driven on the German Autobahns than on American Expressways.
Speed does not kill. Untrained drivers that tailgate, pass on the right, block the left lane, talk on cellphones, text, and/or drive drunk kill. By the way, if you pass somebody on the right in Germany and are caught, you lose your license for either one or two months (I forget which). If you stay in the left lane on an Autobahn and refuse to move over to allow someone to overtake you and you're caught, YOU GO TO JAIL. In that situation you are committing what in English would be called "Unlawful Detainment." Why can't it be that way here?!?!?!?!
You have no idea what it's like to live and drive in Germany for 6 years, and then return home and have to deal with road idiots. Okay, sorry, my rant's over now.
And while I did like it in Germany, overall, it's best to live in the US in my opinion.

Unless your brother's 325 has had its computer re-programmed, it's not going to go more than 131mph. And even if it has, it's not going to do more than 140 without severe modifications. Either way, make sure the tires are speed-rated to whatever speed you guys wish to drive it to. That's important (as in life-or-death important).
