Chop the rear or the top?

I'm partial to the chopped back, as it allows a roof rack for carrying more gear. I seem to use my roof rack all the time, especially on trips to Home Depot
Plus, I have a soft top on my TJ, and I know how much noise comes through that thing! I know Cherokees aren't the quietest on the inside, but it's a hell of a lot quieter than my TJ.
