But they look more of a Cherokee than a Comanche...
The orange one add a bed in the back I think would look good...although it does look like the latest Cherokee...
I would but I can't copy the full design and just put a pickup bed in the back, I need to make my own design but it is acceptable for me to borrow a feature or two like the headlights from the orange one and use it on my design. Hope that makes sense.

jumping in a little late. a practical square designed body. Not overly churched up with sleek lines that turn the overall vehicle into a turtle shell.. It was a light duty pickup truck keep in mind. Might be my love for the original MJ talking...

Definitely, a unibody is too weak for being a competitive mid-sized pickup.
I'm so tired of hearing this. A unibody designed for truck strength will be much stronger than a steel frame. A team of PhD holding engineers at Chrysler proved this out - it would have been done for 2019 but marketing told them that "the average truck buyer" wouldn't accept that. So if the next gen Ram end up being heavy - blame the rednecks.

Do they teach the golden ratio? The thing with the cherokee is that I've heard that it uses that for most everything. Its hard for people to not find it at least somewhat attractive. When they designed the jacked up Dart (KL) it seemed to outright be a joke. Its hard even when forced to find a pleasing set of shapes or proportions.

I too am tired of curvy Jeeps (and cars in general) with big front overhangs, a huge distance to the base of the windshield and huge A pillars.

I really would love a modern XJ. All the same proportions. Change the details on the nose and tail, bigger backseat, spare underneath or on the tailgate. Won't work for this project I realize, but I haven't been interested in a Jeep since the demise of the XJ/TJ. This from someone that made a choice between going to CCS and engineering. I chose the latter.

no worries man! I forgot to post the final rendering (still working on the 3/4 view). With mpg restrictions increasing (51 mpg mandatory by 2021 if I'm not mistaken) designs have to be more aerodynamic. But I tried to not make it as but ugly as the new Cherokee.

I actually read after posting that, that unibody technology has increased so much so that it can be almost as rigid and sturdy as a body on frame chassis. But I'll let the engineers deal with that part lol.

I assume you're talking about proportioning using the wheels as the unit of measurement. And I hear what you're saying, however boxy designs like the XJ and MJ have no hope of making a return. I wanted the boxy designs to stay but I had was at a Q & A at the Mattel HQ held by 4 successful car designers, one of which has a JK and a Commander, and I brought this up and they said it is a design that will be historical yet won't be used in any future car designs sadly.

This is my side view rendering that incorporates as much of the suggestions everyone brought up as I could while still designing something that could actually be produced in 4-7 years.

Really?

Brochacho, if I were you, I would delete that file IMMEDIATELY then. You can't post an image on the interwebz and ask nicely for people not to repost it...once it's out there, it's game on. Just sayin'

Water Mark it on Paint or Photoshop. Slap a big ole Logo or name right across the middle of it.

Creat new layer. Set transparency to 50% then type what ever you want. Then export and upload.
