I'm not scared of new technology, I'm scared of the price of replacing broken or malfunctioning technology.
The inside rear view mirror for a little Ford Fusion cost $1200, the one in my XJ was $7 brand new.
A Corolla headlight is $737 for ONE, the Silverstar headlight for my XJ was $38 for BOTH.
That kind of money for replacement parts is ridiculous.

tried to replace a headlight in a '09 GMC Acadia, by looking at it I found myself lost as there was no apparent way to remove it without taking the entire fender off... turns out I accessed it by removing fender well and cranking tire to lock position just to replace bulb by 'feel'... you cannot see what you're doing unless you remove the tire....
btw, dealer wants $100 to replace that $15 bulb.... after I figured it out took me about 15mins.... but much more time in thought process

I'm always wary of new product when it's released. That's why I haven't bought a ps4 yet. Cause something will happen to it. The grand Cherokee is an amazing vehicle. That's where I'd put my money.

Why pay $1200 for a mirror just because it has a sensor to automatically turn on your wipers when it raining? If auto wipers added a hundreds bucks to the sticker I could maybe go for that.

And while I'm on a rant, what's the deal with the new luxury autos having those LED turn signal arrows imbedded in the outside rear view mirrors?
They always look like some cheesy add-on you got at Autozone for $30.
The turn signals in the tail lights are all LED now and are PLENTY bright enough, having them in the mirrors just looks cheesy and obnoxious.

In my logic, the '14 cherokee serves no purpose. And i do agree with avoiding a first year out model. Our '93 zj was plagued with bugs.

{sarcasm}Just what Jeep needed, another car-based cross-over to fill the (small) gap between the Compass/Patriot and Grand Cherokee.{/sarcasm}
Lower end versions offer nothing over competitors (and in many cases are inferior to them) that are significantly cheaper (seriously if you're looking at a 4-cyl AWD KL go to a Subaru dealer and look at a Forester it is a better vehicle in almost every respect and costs thousands less), and offer little over a Compass/Patriot other than a slightly nicer interior for a significant price increase. Higher end versions come very close in price to a Grand Cherokee which is a much better vehicle in almost every respect. So where exactly does the KL "Cherokee" fit in?
