Carrying out my plan while making presentation on it. Getting resources today. Going ultra formal on this hoping they will notice my maturity
I think maturity is the name of the game here. Your parents are probably also worried that once you have a lift on the jeep you'll be wheeling it and breaking parts, obviously this is going to happen, but you def want to she them you're responsible...

The ONLY way i got my lift was by 1. having more in the jeep than they did (buy new wheels first, it helps) 2. buying the lift, tires, and other parts MYSELF. got a full time job to pay for it, they didnt help not even a bit

If you do it yourself, work on it yourself, and tell them if something breaks you'll pay for it yourself...they really cant say no. OH, on the safety issue, i mostly just told them as i go up i go out, so i got mickey thompsons with some extreme offset and made the tires stick out real far....so now its LESS likely to roll than at stock height

or, stick to your original idea, and take advice from people on how to convince them to let you lift it.
ok got ya, totally gave off the wrong idea of what i said. Its not like i said "hey im lifting my jeep, like it or suck it" I'm just saying if you do it yourself and say you're gonna fix the aftermath if it doesnt work out how you want then they cant really object. I did enough modifying and fixed enough things on the jeep to where i had almost twice in it than what they had. They no longer called it their jeep but MY jeep. They acknowledge that it belongs to me and is not theirs, because of as of having my lift and tires on i have almost 4 times what they have in it. I didnt just up and decide to do this one day, i tryed to convince them for around 3 months before i said screw it and did it this way.

If he lifts the Jeep without his parents permission, they could take the Jeep and sell it. Then he'd be out a Jeep and the cost of the lift.

Just keep bugging your parents about it. Maybe save up for lift and offer to pay for it totally on your own. This will show them how serious you are about it.

OK, seems we're having two different viewpoints from a parents side and from the childs side. If the jeep belongs to him then mine and XJs-R-us's viewpoints would work, as they cant sell it all they can do is frown upon it. Now if it belongs to the parents and he just puts a lift on it....well that may not work well. The way i got my jeep was that they bought it for a few hundred, me and my dad got it running, i cleaned it up, and fixed everything that didnt involve major engine work. If the jeep is his he can really do whatever he wants to it, i found this out when i got my wheels.....sometimes you have to learn from your own experiences/mistakes instead of just doin exactly what your parents say at all times, you will learn nothing that way.

Ok my parents and I get along and disregarding their wishes would end up with me jeep less. Money is not the problem here as I will pay for mostly all of it and for install it will be done by me and a good friend of mine. My parents appreciate maturity and respect. So what if I don't have nuts and **** off my parents. Ill still have a jeep and will be happy

Ever think of keeping the stock suspension aka not replacing it, and just buying new shocks? Then, when you turn 18 (assuming that you will pay off the Jeep when you get a job,) wait until it's YOURS and get the lift then?

i think it all depends on how your relationship is with your parents, and why they dont want you to get the lift. With MINE it was mostly a money thing, or at least thats the excuse they gave me. So doing it myself and doing all the other stuff to my jeep myself ie, change oil, brakes, normal maintenance, fixing A/C. They never have to mess with my jeep and i fix everything that goes wrong with it so theres no reason for them to really worry

sounds like you're a parent. Lets take it down a notch. You have a different opinion on the matter, but theres no reason to criticize us for approaching a situation with a different solution than you would use

a hard lesson in life is to not ever rush into anything. can't say i'm much better, because me and many others have also learned that lesson the hard way.
another thing i know is that there's no such thing as "once in a lifetime" deal. patience is an investment that earns very good APR.
i see that you have your mind made up. as none of us know your parents, i think the best advice is gonna be using your own judgment. you're the one that has something to loose. but one thing is for sure; before your parents let you do whatever YOU want, they will have to see that you're capable of making smart choices. like being already accepted to a good school, or having a steady job. maybe you've been looking at this lift issue from the wrong angle.
in no way, am i implying that you're not capable of making the smart choice. just giving you some food for thought.
